10. Ireland – 72 wins
Ireland has won more matches than Bangladesh and Zimbabwe because they play more T20 matches than the other two. Ireland played their first T20I in August 2008 against Scotland. Since then, they have played 171 games and won 72. They have also lost 90 matches, with two ties and seven games with no result.
9. Afghanistan – 84 wins
Afghanistan is the only team that started playing T20I cricket in 2010, yet they are still in the top 10. They played their first T20I match against Ireland in February 2010 and have been a regular team in the T20 World Cups. Afghanistan has won 84 out of 138 matches, lost 51, tied 2, and had 1 match with no result. Their win/loss ratio is 1.647, which is the second-best among the top 10 teams.
8. Sri Lanka – 88 wins
Sri Lanka has a good record in T20I cricket. They played their first T20 match in June 2006 against England and were strong in the early years. They won the 2014 T20 World Cup, beating India in the final. They also won the 2022 Asia Cup in T20I cricket. So far, Sri Lanka has played 198 T20I matches, winning 88 of them. They lost 103 games, while five matches ended in a tie, and two had no result.
7. West Indies – 92 wins
West Indies are one of only three teams to win the T20 World Cup twice. They played their first T20I match in February 2006 against New Zealand. The team won the T20 World Cup in 2012 and 2016, led by Daren Sammy. So far, West Indies have played 208 matches, winning 92 and losing 103. Three matches ended in a tie, and ten matches had no result.

England introduced cricket to the world, but their first official T20I match was in June 2005 against Australia. They have won the T20 World Cup twice, in 2010 and 2022. England is a strong team, having played 194 T20I games and won 101 of them.
5. South Africa – 105 wins
South Africa has been a strong team in T20 cricket. While they haven’t won any titles, their record is better than some world champions. They played their first T20I match in October 2005 against New Zealand. So far, they have played 190 matches, winning 105 and losing 81. One match was a tie, and three had no result. Their best performance in an ICC T20 World Cup came in 2024, where they finished as runners-up.

Australia played the first official T20I match in 2005. However, compared to other formats, their T20I record wasn’t as strong. They won their first T20 World Cup title in 2021 in the UAE. So far, Australia has played 200 T20I matches, winning 109, losing 84, with three ties and four no results.

New Zealand, together with Australia, played the first official T20I game in 2005. Although the Black Caps haven’t won any ICC titles in T20Is, their overall record is strong. They became the third team to win over 100 T20Is and play more than 200 matches. New Zealand has played 220 T20Is, winning 111, losing 92, with 10 tied matches and 7 with no result.

Pakistan is one of the best teams in T20I cricket. They were the first team to win over 100 T20I matches. Pakistan won the 2009 T20 World Cup and finished as runners-up in 2007 and 2022. So far, they have played 245 matches, winning 142, losing 92, with 4 tied matches and 7 no results.

Team India made history by winning the first T20 World Cup in 2007, proving they are one of the best teams in this format. India has won the most T20 matches and will aim to extend their lead over other teams.
The two-time T20 World Cup champions have played 239 matches, winning 158 of them. Their win/loss ratio is an impressive 2.289, the highest among test-playing nations. They have lost 69 matches, with 6 ties and 6 no-results.
