7. Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar joined the Indian Test team as a replacement for Virat Kohli during the home series against England.
He made his debut in the second Test, scoring 32 and 9 in the two innings. However, the right-handed batter struggled to make an impact in the middle order, managing only 63 runs across six innings with an average of 10.5.
Since the England series, Patidar has not been part of the Indian Test team.
6. Dhruv Jurel
Dhruv Jurel played his first Test match for India in the third Test against England in Rajkot during their 2024 tour. He started his Test journey with a solid score of 46 runs.
Jurel’s best performance came in the fourth Test in Ranchi, where he scored 90 runs in the first innings and an unbeaten 39 in the second, helping India secure a win.
In just five Test innings, Jurel has scored a total of 201 runs with an impressive batting average of 50.25.
5. Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan began his Test career alongside Dhruv Jurel in 2024, making his debut against England in Rajkot.
In his very first match, Sarfaraz showed his talent with a quick 62 and an unbeaten 68, proving why he’s been one of the top performers in domestic cricket in recent years.
He scored his first Test century in Bengaluru during New Zealand’s tour of India, hitting 150 runs off 195 balls. Despite his brilliant innings, India lost the match by eight wickets.

4. Akash Deep
Akash Deep got his first Test call-up to the Indian cricket team for the final three matches of the home series against England. He made his debut in the fourth Test and made an impact right away, picking up key wickets, including Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, and Ollie Pope in the first innings.
So far, Akash has taken 10 wickets in eight Test innings. He is also included in India’s squad for the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
3. Devdutt Padikkal
Young batsman Devdutt Padikkal from Karnataka made his Test debut during England’s tour of India in 2024. The left-handed player showcased his skills by scoring an impressive 65 runs off 103 balls in his first innings.
In his second Test, played in Perth, Padikkal unfortunately got out for a duck in the first innings.
2. Nitish Kumar Reddy
Rising Indian all-rounder Nitish Reddy made his Test debut against Australia in the first match of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
2024 has been a standout year for Nitish Kumar Reddy. His strong performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) earned him a spot in the T20I squad, where he debuted against Bangladesh earlier this year.
In the three T20I games against Bangladesh, Nitish scored 90 runs at a stunning strike rate of 180 and took three wickets.
1. Harshit Rana
Harshit Rana made his Test debut against Australia in the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Perth.
Rana had a standout performance in the IPL 2024, picking up 19 wickets in 13 matches. He was key to Kolkata Knight Riders’ victory, taking 2/24 in the final.
