List of all trophies won by MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in cricket history. Known as ‘Captain Cool,’ he has won nearly every major trophy in his nearly two-decade career.
Dhoni is the first captain to win all three major ICC trophies: the 2007 ICC World T20, the 2011 Cricket World Cup, and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. In 2013, India also became the number-one ranked ODI team under his leadership, winning the ICC ODI Championship Shield.
India also won the Asia Cup under Dhoni in 2010 and 2016. In Test cricket, Dhoni led India to the ICC Test Mace in 2010 and 2011, and the team won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy three times (2008, 2010, 2013). Dhoni also captained India to a historic Test series win in New Zealand in 2009 after 41 years.
In 2008, Dhoni’s India won the Commonwealth Bank Series in Australia, and he was part of the team that won a Test series in England in 2007.
Dhoni had great success in franchise cricket as well, leading Chennai to 10 IPL finals and winning five IPL titles (2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023). He also led Chennai to two Champions League T20 titles in 2010 and 2014.
Dhoni scored 17,266 runs in 538 matches for India between 2004 and 2019, with an average of 44.76, including 16 centuries and 108 fifties.
He won the ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2008 and 2009 and was named to the ICC World ODI XI multiple times. Dhoni was also selected as the captain of the World ODI XI in 2009 and from 2011 to 2014.
In recognition of his legendary career, Dhoni was included in the ICC ODI and T20I teams of the Decade (2011–2020) and won the ICC Spirit of Cricket Award of the Decade in 2020.
Dhoni received India’s highest sports honor, the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, in 2008, and was awarded the Padma Shri in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan in 2018.
