RIGA, Latvia (AP) — Turkey is heading to the EuroBasket final for the first time in 24 years, where they will face World Cup champion Germany for the gold medal.
This will be only Turkey’s second EuroBasket medal; they won silver when they hosted the tournament in 2001. Germany will win a medal for the fourth time, having won gold in 1993, silver in 2005, and bronze in 2022.
Before the tournament, Germany and Turkey faced each other in a friendly at the DBB Supercup on August 15, where Germany won 73-71.
