The National Sports Council (NSC) has formed a new ad hoc committee of the Dhaka Divisional Sports Organization. In which the former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team, Mohammad Ashraful, has been replaced by the current BCB president, Aminul Islam Bulbul. In addition, another BCB director, Nazmul Abedin Fahim, has been added to the district sports organization, replacing former women cricketer and current umpire colleague Zakir Jessi.
In a notification issued by the NSC on September 8, it was informed that the chairman of the National Sports Council approved this committee of 11 members. The notification said that according to the National Sports Council Act-2018, a new committee has been formed by replacing one member of the Dhaka Divisional Sports Association. Aminul Islam Bulbul has become the new member after removing Mohammad Ashraful from the previous committee.
It is believed that Bulbul will be the councilor from the Dhaka Division for the upcoming BCB elections. Earlier, he was nominated by the NSC and became the director and president of the BCB. Before that, Nazmul Abedin Fahim became the director of the BCB in the same way. Since they are new members of the Dhaka Division and District Sports Association, they can elect the BCB board of directors from there. As a result, there will be changes in the NNC-nominated councilorship.
The convener of this committee will be the Divisional Commissioner of Dhaka Division (the post is still vacant). Apart from Bulbul, other members of the committee include sports organizer and former captain of the national football team Syed Rumman bin Wali Sabbir, former player of the national cricket team Rakibul Hasan, former cricketer and umpire Niyamur Rashid, former BCB director Khandaker Jamil Uddin and sports enthusiast Md. Anwar Hossain Arif.
In addition, the convening committee members include sports organizer and vice-president of Bangladesh Archery Federation Mahfuzur Rahman Siddiqui, student representative Sifat Sadiq Khan, and deputy director of the Sports Journalist and Youth Development Department Redwan Sultan.
