Bangladeshi women’s footballers are dominating the Bhutan Women’s Football League. Sabina-Rituparna Chakma’s Paro FC is at the top of the table. Krishna and Rupna Chakma’s Transport United are chasing them. On Tuesday (August 5), Transport United defeated Footsaling Heroes Women’s Football Club by 12-0 goals.
Bangladesh national football team senior footballer Krishna Rani Sarkar scored 5 goals. She completed her hat-trick in the first half. She scored two more goals in the second half. Krishna scored five goals out of 12 goals and was named man of the match. This is Krishna’s second man of the match recognition in the Bhutan Women’s League. After a break of a few months, Krishna said, “It feels good to be the man of the match again. This is my second time. The team won by a big margin and I was able to contribute there. That’s what I feel.”

Forward Krishna Rani Sarkar, Bangladesh defender Masura Parveen and goalkeeper Rupna Chakma play for Transport United. Although Masura is a defender, she has scored a few goals in the Bhutan League. However, she did not concede any goals on Tuesday. Bangladesh goalkeeper Rupna kept a clean sheet. Forward Krishna alone scored almost half of the team’s goals.
Krishna is the second highest senior player in the Bangladesh team after Sabina Khatun. Her speed, skill and shooting were all extraordinary. Krishna’s contribution to becoming the SAFF champion in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2022 was great. She scored a pair of goals in the final. She was injured throughout 2023 and did not regain her usual form. Although Krishna was in the 2024 SAFF champion squad, she was not seen. However, Krishna is playing in much the same form as before in the Bhutan Women’s League. Even then, she is not coming to the attention of Butler, the British head coach of the Bangladesh women’s team.
