The ACC U19 Asia Cup is a top cricket tournament for under-19 teams from Asian nations. It is organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
The first ACC U19 Asia Cup took place in Bangladesh in 1989. India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka played in the opening tournament, with India and Sri Lanka reaching the final. India, led by Ranjib Biswal, won the first title, beating Sri Lanka by 79 runs. Famous players like Sourav Ganguly, Vinod Kambli, and Ajay Jadeja were part of the winning Indian team.
After a 14-year gap, the second edition was held in Pakistan in 2003. India, led by Ambati Rayudu, won again, defeating Pakistan by eight wickets in the final.
The third tournament was in Malaysia in 2012, where India and Pakistan shared the trophy after the final ended in a tie.
India has been the most successful team in the tournament’s history, winning eight times in 1989, 2003, 2012, 2013/14, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2021.
Bangladesh are the current champions, having defeated the United Arab Emirates by 195 runs in the 2023 final. Afghanistan also won once, claiming the title in 2017 in Malaysia.
