10. Rahul Dravid
Rahul Dravid, the current coach of the Indian Cricket Team, ranks 10th among the fastest players to score 10,000 runs in ODIs. He achieved this milestone in 2007 during a match against Sri Lanka in Margao. Dravid played 309 matches and batted in 287 innings from his ODI debut in 1996. By the end of his career, he had an impressive batting average of 39.2.
9. Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle, famous for his powerful batting and massive sixes, reached 10,000 ODI runs in 2019 during a match against England in St. George’s. He achieved this milestone after playing 288 matches and 282 innings since his debut in 1999.
Known for his aggressive style, Gayle could destroy any bowling attack with his strength. His consistent performances in T20 leagues and his charismatic personality have also cemented his place as a cricket legend.
8. Brian Lara
Brian Lara, known as one of the most elegant left-handed batsmen, reached 10,000 ODI runs in 2006 while playing against Pakistan in Karachi. He achieved this milestone after playing 287 matches and 278 innings since his debut in 1990. Lara’s achievements in both Test and ODI cricket show why he is considered a legend. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the only Indian captain to win three ICC trophies, reached 10,000 ODI runs in 2018 during a match against England at Lord’s. It took him 320 matches and 273 innings to achieve this since his debut in 2004. Dhoni ended his ODI career with 10,773 runs, averaging over 50.
6. Jacques Kallis
Jacques Kallis, known as one of the best all-rounders in cricket, reached 10,000 ODI runs in 2009 while playing against Australia in Sydney. It took him 286 matches and 272 innings since his debut in 1996 to achieve this milestone.
Kallis is the only player ever to score over 10,000 runs and take more than 250 wickets in both ODIs and Test cricket. He also took 131 catches in ODIs. Kallis retired from international cricket in 2014.
5. Ricky Ponting
Ricky Ponting, one of Australia’s best captains, scored his 10,000th run in 2007 during a match against South Africa in Basseterre. It took him 272 matches and 266 innings since his debut in 1995.
Ponting is one of the top run-scorers in ODI history, with 13,704 runs. He retired from Test cricket in December 2012 and from all forms of cricket in 2013.
4. Sourav Ganguly
Sourav Ganguly, one of India’s best cricket captains, reached 10,000 runs in 2005 during a match against Sri Lanka in Dambulla. It took him 272 matches and 263 innings to reach this milestone, starting from his debut in 1992.

3. Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar, known as the “God of Cricket,” was the first player to score 10,000 runs in ODIs. He reached this achievement in 2001 during a match against Australia in Indore, after playing 266 matches and 259 innings. Tendulkar started his career in 1989.

Rohit Sharma, the current captain of the Indian cricket team in all formats, reached the 10,000-run mark in ODIs in 2023 during a match against Sri Lanka in Colombo. It took him 248 matches and 241 innings to achieve this, since his debut in 2007.
Sharma holds many records, including the most fours in an ODI innings (33) and the highest individual score in an ODI (264). He is also the only player to have scored three double centuries in ODIs.
