With a win percentage of 58.43%, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) boast the best record in IPL history. Out of 239 matches, they’ve won 138, lost 98, and had two games with no result. CSK has reached the IPL playoffs 12 times in 15 seasons and appeared in a record 10 finals. All five of their titles have been secured under MS Dhoni’s leadership, though Ruturaj Gaikwad took over the captaincy for the 2024 season. Mumbai Indians (MI) follow closely with a win percentage of 55.17%. They’ve played 261 matches, winning 142 and losing 115. Known for their dominance under Rohit Sharma, MI has reached the knockout stages 10 times and secured five IPL titles. However, Hardik Pandya took over as captain for the 2024 season. KKR’s first two championships came under Gautam Gambhir, while Shreyas Iyer captained the team to their third title. KKR holds the record for the longest winning streak in IPL history with 14 consecutive wins. Gautam Gambhir is the team’s leading run-scorer, and Sunil Narine has taken the most wickets for KKR.
Rajasthan Royals | Win Percentage – 50.91%
Rajasthan Royals (RR), the inaugural IPL champions in 2008 under Shane Warne, have an overall win percentage of 50.91%. Out of 222 matches, RR has won 110 and lost 106, with two wins and one loss in Super Overs. The Royals have reached the playoffs six times, including the 2024 season. Sanju Samson holds the record for the most runs scored for RR, while Shane Watson leads in wickets.
Sunrisers Hyderabad | Win Percentage – 48.90%
Since joining the IPL in 2013, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has played 183 matches, winning 87 and losing 94. Their overall win percentage stands at 48.90%. SRH claimed their first IPL title in 2016, defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the final. They reached the IPL final again in 2018 and 2024 but were runners-up both times.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru | Win Percentage – 48.61%
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have played 256 matches, winning 121 and losing 128, giving them a win percentage of 48.61%. Though they have never won an IPL title, RCB has finished as runners-up three times: in 2009, 2011, and 2016. The team is known for holding both the highest total score conceded (287 against SRH) and the lowest total score in an innings (49 against KKR).
Delhi Capitals | Win Percentage – 45.60%
Delhi Capitals (DC) have played 252 matches, winning 112 and losing 134. Their win percentage stands at 45.60%.
